As far as teaching and doing fused glass, I have had over 1500 or so firings in small kilns. From Rapid Fire and Quick Fire kilns to now only using Aim 84J kilns. I imagine I have made 60,000 pieces now from earring cabs to larger cabochons used for jewelry stained glass applications and more. In fact I have sold fused glass cabs (all flat on the back) to many non-related industries. I have sold to the wood turning industry for inlays, Mosaic folks, ceramic, stained glass, furniture as well as wine stoppers and doorknobs. When it comes to jewelry applications the range has been from earrings, pendants, bracelets to more complicated versions within
those mentioned.
I have never had lessons when it comes to glass whether I am fusing or stained glass which creates a huge dynamic in that I am not taught the “you can’t do that attitudes” In fact I have tried many many things that worked and realized that my methods may in fact be unique. From glass handling, color choices, fusing timing techniques, layouts and more.
I am very interested in creating wholesale so to speak accounts as in selling my product to leaching my methods in a downloadable format. My idea of fusing lesson plans may also be a little different. First of all many folks already have some kind of glass knowledge and they are looking for a new fresh approach to utilize what they may already have as far as materials, tools etc but may lack technique.
So instead of selling/teaching assuming folks do not have any knowledge, I plan on selling mini lessons. Perhaps you need cutting helps so there willo be a video, pictures etc for that area. Maybe you could use organizational ideas of how to get the most out of what you already have then again another plan. The idea is that I would like to offer mini sections instead of repeating redundant information.
That way we can totally focus on your needs.
In the meantime I have tons of ideas on my Video Page or YouTube Channel… DichroicGlassman
